What I Learned About Success from Failure

A personal story by the founder of Digitally Incllined – Shatakshi Sharma

Success stories are often polished and filtered to show only the highlights. But real growth? It comes from failure—the kind that shakes your confidence but teaches you what success never could.

Here’s my story.

My First Big Failure: Class 11

Class 11 was the first time I truly failed. Not just in terms of marks—but mentally. I felt lost, confused, and unsure if I was even on the right path. I started questioning my own abilities. Was I just not cut out for this?

But something shifted.

Instead of changing streams or giving up, I made a decision: I’ll stick it out. I’ll fight smarter.

And in Class 12, I did.
I came back stronger—with clarity about what I wanted and the willpower to make it happen.
I aced my exams in the same stream I once struggled in.

That was my first lesson:
🔑 Clarity and consistency beat chaos and confusion.

Choosing Business, Not Backing Down

Even though I wasn’t from a top school or didn’t have perfect marks, I knew one thing:
📌 I loved business. I wanted to build something.

So I stuck to it.

I pursued business during graduation—and thrived. I explored marketing, strategy, and people management. This time, I wasn’t struggling—I was flowing. I had found my space.

But life threw another twist

The Dream Job I Walked Away From

After graduation, I landed a job in a famous tech company. It was what people would call a “dream job.” Great brand, good money, secure future.

But I was miserable.

Coding wasn’t my thing. I wasn’t excited. I didn’t see myself building a life in that direction.
I knew staying would be easy, but empty.

So I did what most people are scared to do—I quit.

And again, I felt like a failure.
“What now?” “Was this a mistake?” “Did I throw away a golden opportunity?”

The Turning Point: Helping Others Like Me

But then, something clicked.
I realized I wasn’t the only one.
There were thousands of students and fresh graduates feeling just like I did—pressured, directionless, following the “safe” path, even if it wasn’t their own.

And that’s when the idea hit me:

What if I build something to help people avoid the confusion I went through?

That’s how Digitally Incllined was born.

Final Thoughts: Failure Isn’t Final

Failure doesn’t mean the end. It means a redirection.
If I hadn’t failed in Class 11, I wouldn’t have found clarity.
If I hadn’t quit my job, I wouldn’t have built a business.
If I hadn’t felt lost—I wouldn’t be helping others find their way.

You’re just getting ready to write your own story.
